2015 Beijing-Tianjin Regional Dean's Working Seminar of the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held in Beijing

On January 26-27, 2015, the 2015 Beijing-Tianjin Regional Dean's Working Seminar of Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held in the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Deputy Inspector Xu Zhongbo of the Department of Degree Management and Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education, Director Xu Weiqing of the Quality Supervision and Information Division, Deputy Director Zhang Shuai of the Comprehensive Division, Secretary General of the Joint Association of Deans, Chen XI, Vice President of Peking University and Dean of Graduate School, and Deans of the Beijing-Tianjin region members of the Joint Association of Deans attended the meeting in total 23 people.

The meeting focused on the study and implementation of the spirit of relevant documents of the National Conference on Quality of Graduate Education and the 31st Meeting of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, strengthening the communication and exchange among the member units, further promoting the comprehensive reform of graduate education, and discussing the work content and operation mechanism of the Joint Council of Deans and the Alliance for Quality of Graduate Education (preparation) under the new situation.

Wang Yanfen, Vice President of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), firstly introduced the postgraduate education of UCAS, and shared with the deans the useful exploration and valuable experience of UCAS in curriculum and teaching organization, selection of doctoral supervisors and professional degree postgraduate training.

Wu Xiaolin, Vice President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Wang Wenbo, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Gao Hong, Vice President of Graduate School of Tsinghua University, Zhang Zhibin, Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing Normal University, Liu Wenli, Vice President of Graduate School of China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Liu Yubin, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Nankai University, Zhao Meirong, Vice President of Graduate School of Tianjin University, Huang Hai, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Huang Hai, Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing University of Science and Technology. Huang Navy, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Song Yuanfang, Vice President of Graduate School of Renmin University, Zhang Zhiqiang, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing Forestry University, Liu Zhigang, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing Jiaotong University, and Luo Aqin, Vice President of Graduate School of Beijing University of Technology, introduced the latest progress and initiatives of the reform of graduate education in their respective schools, and discussed how to implement the triage and elimination system of graduate students, build a quality They put forward many constructive insights on how to implement the triage and elimination system of graduate students, build quality assurance system and improve the quality of graduate education, the repositioning and concurrent cultivation of academic and professional talents, the management of degree authorization points, the related reform of national education administrative appropriation, the construction of cross-disciplinary platforms and supporting guarantee, etc.

Deputy Inspector Xu Zhongbo and Director Xu Weiqing fully communicated with the deans and hoped that they would actively participate in the future discussions on a series of important issues and actively suggest ideas for the 13th Five-Year Plan of graduate education. In addition, it was also emphasized again that the work should be more goal-oriented, and different schools should have goals that are in line with their own development and reflect their characteristics, and strengthen self-discipline, and look forward to the further promotion of the establishment of the Quality Alliance.

The meeting also listened to the opinions and suggestions of the participating deans on the formulation of the work plan of the Joint Council of Deans in 2015.
