The first meeting of the third Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held in Beijing

The first meeting of the third presidency of the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held in Peking University on February 29, 2008. Wang Yanglin, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Peking University, Sun Shigang, Vice President of Xiamen University, Xu Jun and Pu Lijie, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Nanjing University, Chen Hualing, Executive Vice President of Graduate School of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Li Xiubing, Vice President of Graduate School of Xi'an Jiaotong University and Liao Xiaoling, Director of the Secretariat of the Joint Council of Deans attended this meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wang Yanglin, Executive Vice President of Peking University and Deputy Asecretariat of Association of Chinese Graduate Schools, and recorded by Dr. Huang Zongying from Degree Office of Peking University.

Wang Yanglin firstly introduced the history, functions, organization and working methods of the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)of the current presidency, and informed the work of the Joint Committee from 2003 to 2007. After that, we discussed the work to be carried out by the current session of the Joint Committee (2008-2011). It was decided that the rotation order of the current chairmanship units would be: Xiamen University (2008), Xi'an Jiaotong University (2009), Nanjing University (2010), and Peking University (2011). The chairpersons expressed that they would definitely live up to the trust and hope of the deans of the Joint Council, and work with the secretariat under the guidance of the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council to do their best in the current work and make our contribution to the development of the Joint Council and the cause of degree and postgraduate education in China.
