Since the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS）issued the "Initiative of Supporting Degree and Postgraduate Education in Western Region" in 2000, the members of the Joint Council have responded positively and done a lot of practical work.

　　From June 7 to 10, 2004, the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS）invited a delegation of deans, headed by Gu Yunshen, executive vice president of Graduate School of Fudan University, with the participation of Graduate School of Nanjing University, Graduate School of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Graduate School of Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the secretariat, to arrive at Hubei (Enshi) College of Nationalities, and made a site visit to Hubei College of Nationalities on the issues of talent cultivation and discipline construction. The delegation made a site visit, listened to their report and received consultation. The delegation gave actionable suggestions and opinions with the actual situation of Hubei College of Nationalities, and its efficient work was well received by Hubei College of Nationalities.
