2001 Annual Meeting of the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held in Xi'an

  The 2001 Annual Meeting of the Association of Chinese Graduate Schools(ACGS)was held in Xi'an from October 19 to 22, 2001 (the meeting was hosted by the Graduate School of Northwestern Polytechnic University). The meeting was attended by academician Zhou Qifeng, director of the Academic Degrees Committee Office of the State Council, deputy director Wang Yajie, deputy director Han Jianhua of the Department of Students of the Ministry of Education, deans or executive vice deans of 54 graduate schools and directors of six divisions of the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council. Academician Han Qide, Executive Vice President and Dean of Graduate School of Peking University and Secretary General of the Joint Conference of Deans of Graduate Schools of China, presided over the conference. The conference listened to the report of the Secretariat and adopted in principle the amendments to the Regulations proposed by the Secretariat; the conference held a report and group discussions on the theme of "Strengthening Academic Style and Improving Cultivation Quality"; the conference made an advisory opinion on the Opinions of the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council on Improving and Strengthening the Work of Professional Degree Education. The conference was held on the theme of "strengthening academic style construction and improving cultivation quality".
