In order to solidly promote the work of excellence in education, continuously improve the postgraduate curriculum system and strengthen the role of curriculum education, East China Normal University has implemented the double-wheel drive of "Civic and Political Science Curriculum" and "Civic and Political Science Curriculum" to promote Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era into the teaching materials, into the classroom and into the mind.  The course "Study of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Discourses on Education" is an important initiative of the university to build a first-class postgraduate curriculum.

The course is developed by the teaching team of the Department of Education, and is offered as a compulsory course for some graduate students in the Department on a pilot basis, and will be extended to all graduate students of related majors in the University. Professor Zhu Yiming, head of the course team and professor of the Department of Education, introduced the foundation, ideas and progress of the course construction. The course provides a comprehensive and systematic introduction to General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on education, guiding students on how to understand and grasp it in their studies and how to implement and enforce the relevant contents and requirements in practice. He expressed his hope that through the teaching of this course, students will not only learn and understand the relevant discourses, but also understand the history, achievements and progress of education reform and development in contemporary China, clarify the direction of China's education reform and development, and commit themselves to education research and education.

During the seminar, experts discussed and exchanged views on the course "Study of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Discourses on Education" and its teaching themes, and made suggestions and pointed out directions for the follow-up work of the course construction. They said that building the course is an important step to realize the introduction of Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era into teaching materials, classrooms and minds, and that East China Normal University has explored a new experience of introducing the study of Xi Jinping's thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era into postgraduate training by taking advantage of its education discipline.
